Fashion Minimalist – Peek Pronto Email Device
Written by FredFashion // September 29, 2009 // Technology, Trends // No comments
In the fashion world, sometimes less then more. The same principle can be applied to the gadget world. This week we look at the Peek Pronto email device, and rate its ability to be a SMS/Email replacement for your cell phone.

This week’s fashion trend is as a technology trend. The Peek Pronto email device is a mobile pager that sends and receives emails. It’s like what the BlackBerry used to be, before they added the telephony features to the blackberry. Even though it only sends emails and text messages (sorry no web browsing, no games, no camera, no video player, no FM radio, nor heart monitor included) it performs that task adequately enough. At the heart I’m a fashion minimalist – only dressing in the bare essentials – I’m beginning to appreciate technology that follows suit, especially in this economy. So if the cost of your iPhone or T-Mobile G1
or Sidekick LX
bills begin to pile up because it’s past due, here’s what we recommend you do:
- Rather than paying the $300+ it would cost to keep your phone service from getting cut off, purchase a Peek Pronto with lifetime service plan
.
- Use your Peek to send Text Messages and emails to your friends.
- Sign-up for a Google Voice Account and get a virtual phone number and voicemail for free. (You have to wait for the invitation though)
- Give out your GV number to people, so even when you get a new phone down the road, you can continue using your same GV number with any provider, or landline.
