When it comes to good photographers they are far and few, but the ones that you do find you hold onto. Photographer Xylux is definitely one of those photographers. After having ran across his work and having the chance to work with him 2 years ago I have been a huge fan and supporter of Xylux. All of his work shows a clean and sophisticated view of fashion and women. With the use of color saturation and a good makeup and styling team Xylux has made himself one of South Florida’s most wanted photographers.

For the holiday season Xylux with his makeup and hair team by Lucianne and wardrobe by Lawnette Lucille have created a stunning, moody, and glamorous editorial that makes one want to spend their own holiday break in furs, reptile scale makeup, and ornate jewelry. Famed Interior Designer Juan Montoya Designs Art Miami VIP Lounge

Art Miami, Miami’s longest running contemporary art fair and anchor fair to the City of Miami has partnered with its official host hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Miami to engage interior designer Juan Montoya to design an incredible VIP Lounge at Art Miami’s 22^nd edition, which will run November 29 – December 4, 2011.

Inspired by the modern and contemporary artwork showcased annually at Art Miami, Montoya will transform a 2,000-square-foot space that’s located in the epicenter of Art Miami’s state-of-the-art pavilion where VIP collectors, sponsors and art dealers connect to network, entertain and host client meetings.

Sponsored by Mandarin Oriental, one of the most luxurious five-star hotels in the city, the VIP lounge will combine the sophistication of Miami, with the cultural heritage of the Far East — filled with rich, yet muted tones and exotic furnishings from Indonesia. The centerpiece bamboo sculpture will entice Art Miami VIPs into the interior private seating area for more intimate conversations. A specially created bar topped with custom Indonesian wood will provide the ideal social setting for networking, whilestriking cowhide rugs will blanket the floor, accenting the overall décor.

“Since Art Miami exhibitors display high quality art work, I felt that it was important to give the VIP audience an opportunity to have a place that’s equally as sophisticated so they can discuss art,” Juan Montoya said. “I wanted this space to be unique — something that had not been done before. The statement pieces, furnishings and fabrics all beautifully complement the artwork featured at Art Miami.”

Who better to design and run a boutique than the models themselves? Friend and fashion model Tasha Moore has done just that with her upcoming online boutique Peace Love Threads. Tasha has walked in Funkshion and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week as well as worked with some of the best designers today. Her boutique focus’s and specializes in women’s apparel and accessories. Tasha and her team work with up-and-coming designers and brands to help make pieces for the boutique that have a high quality along with being trendsetting, and most importantly chic. What is most commendable by Peace Love Threads is that 10% of their net income goes towards community service and global service initiatives.

What I love most about Peace Love Threads is their sense of family and wholesome love. In their description of themselves they state,

”More than just a brand Peace Love Threads is a collective of individuals who LOVE, period. We love who we are and what we do; and we love the threads we wear while doing it! We believe in the pursuit of happiness and the enjoyment and fullfilment of life through chasing your dreams and pursuing your passions.”

In the most recent press release they are expecting to open Peace Love Threads online boutique this coming Fall 2011 but until then you can follow their blog here. With model Tasha Moore at their side they are sure to be extremely successful.

Hosiery label Bebaroque has cooperated with London fashion label PPQ creating a capsule collection of hosiery. The capsule includes 9 pieces (ranging from scarves, socks and body cons), which will also be made public alongside PPQ’s Spring 2012 collection on the opening day of London Fashion Week on September 16^th. 2011.

The main designers from PPQ Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker wanted to work with a high- end hosiery brand that could combine pattern and embellishment to create the products, which will highlight the collection’s theme.

Bodysuits comes in black, white and blue with sheer panels embellished with crystals, beads, sequins and embroidery details like Appliqué ribboning, rope- like braiding and even some three dimensional florals, which adds a hint of glamour like dance costumes.

On the evening of Saturday, September 17, 2011, young and old alike joined forces to support the prevention of human trafficking by implementing their love for the fashion industry and producing an event specifically constructed to combat such a grievous injustice inflicted upon the human population. And what an event it was.

Held in Miami’s Design District and designed by the Coral Gables-based integrated branding and marketing agency, The Brand Collective, last week’s elegant affair, aptly entitled “Fashion for Charity”, was an incredible success, raising proceeds for two nonprofits dedicated to improving the state of human welfare. The organizations chosen to be the recipients of this year’s funds included The Edge Foundation and Project Start Off Smart, two groups dedicated to dispelling human trafficking from the South Florida region in addition to increasing the general levels of public awareness surrounding this particular issue.

Complete with delicious hors d’oeuvres provided by local vendors such as the cupcake favorite Bite Me, a series of pop-up shops showcasing regional businesses devoted to the cause, a silent auction, and finally a fabulous fashion show serving as the main spectacle, this charitable function took those in attendance by storm, blowing them out of the water with its impeccable design and nearly effortless execution.

Thanks to several of the sponsors present last week, including Hypnotiq and SmartWater, guests were able to enjoy a refreshing beverage while watching a variety of stunning models grace the catwalk, adorned in some of this season’s latest styles. Featuring recent collections produced by G-Star Raw, Yohji Yamamoto, and Custo Barcelona, this year’s fashion show consisted of not only seasoned models from the John Casablancas and Model OH! agencies, but also young children in honor of the function’s overall mission. With a pumping soundtrack that energized both the models themselves and the crowd to ensure never a dull moment, the 2011 Fashion for Charity show set an unbelievably high bar for all future events to come.

Swedish contemporary designer Acne has created a capsule collection with the collaboration with London artist and sculptor Daniel Silver, showing his tribal inspired fabrics and bold vibrant colour palette.

This collaboration involves a small collection of 60 pieces of garments and divided into half womenswear and menswear with accessories and footwear. Most the pieces like skirts, shirts and dresses are outlined by the strong colourful prints with the intense of the African inspirations that features in Silver’s artwork.

This fashion art collection is currently being shot on location in New York and it will be ready to purchase in stores around October. The London range will be available at Silver’s hometown at Dover street from the brand’s official store from October 12^th.
