For 2011 Young Designer of the year it was a competition where fashion students around the U.K can enter via their University. Here are some images I took on the day of the catwalk, showing the 11 finalists who got picked and have to congratulate to my friend Aimee Law who got picked this year as a finalists! The brief was to create a red carpet dress for a chosen celebrity or well known icon.

When it comes to good photographers they are far and few, but the ones that you do find you hold onto. Photographer Xylux is definitely one of those photographers. After having ran across his work and having the chance to work with him 2 years ago I have been a huge fan and supporter of Xylux. All of his work shows a clean and sophisticated view of fashion and women. With the use of color saturation and a good makeup and styling team Xylux has made himself one of South Florida’s most wanted photographers.

For the holiday season Xylux with his makeup and hair team by Lucianne and wardrobe by Lawnette Lucille have created a stunning, moody, and glamorous editorial that makes one want to spend their own holiday break in furs, reptile scale makeup, and ornate jewelry. Casa De Rosa New Face Model Contest

Casa De Rosac Photography will be holding a modeling showcase to choose their new spokes model from eight already chosen finalists. The private event will be held at the 1020 Lounge on the Second Floor of the Clevelander Hotel, 1020 Ocean Drive Miami Beach, FL at 10pm. “We are very excited about this year’s finalists,” said Silvia Del Rosario, Casa De Rosa Photography’s owner and photographer. “I think I’m most excited about the wide range of nationalities represented. We have girls from Russia, Columbia, Bulgaria, Cuba, the Netherlands, Trinidad and the Bahamas, they are all absolutely gorgeous, I couldn’t have dreamed up a better group.”

The Eight finalists will compete on the runway, in swimwear and evening-wear. A three-part panel of industry experts will determine who will become the company’s next spokesmodel. Last year’s winner, Caitlain Jarvis, will also be in attendance. She was only 15 years old when she was chosen as Casa De Rosa’s spokesmodel. “It has opened up so many doors for me. It was such a great experience to work with Silvia.” The contest had contestants enter online at www.cdrosa.com with three photographs and their measurements. There was a wide range of contestants from professional to inexperienced models. The winner’s prize package includes $2500 in sponsored gifts and a possible professional modeling contract from REVATI Marketing Group’s Entertainment Division.

Although the actual event is by invitation only, the 1020 Lounge will be hosting an after party that is open to the public immediately following.

Miami Beach International Bridal Week will be held at the Renaissance Eden Roc Miami Beach, Florida on November 26-27 and is brought to you by Sobol-Perry fashion Productions, Inc. Events.

This amazing event was created by Beth Sobel, of Sobol-Perry events. She planned the first Miami Bridal Week event in 1999. Sofia has been nominated to two Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for her role in the ABC Series “Modern Family,” broadcasted in 81 countries around the world. Savor the flavor and take a bite out of the inaugural BURGERLISCIOUS festival on Thursday, November 3, 2011, from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Ponce Circle/Fred B. Hartnett Park (2810 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables). Bonafide burger aficionados will be able to sink their teeth into gourmet burgers made by more than twenty of Coral Gables’ premier restaurants. The festival will also kickoff Miami Live Music Month (www.livemiamimusic.com) with energetic entertainment presented by The Stage.

The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, Samuel Adams and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau have partnered to present this appetizing event to the public. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will also benefit the Coral Gables Community Foundation to help support local small businesses.

Art Miami, Miami’s longest running contemporary art fair and anchor fair to the City of Miami has partnered with its official host hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Miami to engage interior designer Juan Montoya to design an incredible VIP Lounge at Art Miami’s 22^nd edition, which will run November 29 – December 4, 2011.

Inspired by the modern and contemporary artwork showcased annually at Art Miami, Montoya will transform a 2,000-square-foot space that’s located in the epicenter of Art Miami’s state-of-the-art pavilion where VIP collectors, sponsors and art dealers connect to network, entertain and host client meetings.

It was fashion week again here in Miami and to bring in the cool downed season (or at least not sweating through our clothes season) Nora Sahraoui debuted her first fashion line, Xela, at the Setai hotel for Funkshion fashion week. There were 10 models and 35 pieces ranging from heavily embroidered and beaded dresses, coats, and skirts with inspiration coming from Dubia and India, to ready to wear, to bridal and evening gowns.

The call time was 6pm at the Setai for hair and makeup but due to the recent terrible weather and the fact that the runway is outside Xela was delayed until 9pm for hair and makeup since Red Dress Fashion Show was moved to show right before Xela. Once again showing the patience that must be present for a model’s job.

The show finally began at 11 pm and went fantastically. The clothes were beautiful, the model’s were fantastic, and the overall show was a complete success. Easily my favorite piece was the final bridal look I walked for Nora. The dress was so intricate and overall spirit lifting, and the veil certainly did help.
