Before I go into further detail about all the wonderful events in store, let me first inform you a bit in the what, where, and when of this magical event. Miami Beach International Bridal Week will be held at the Renaissance Eden Roc Miami Beach, Florida on November 26-27 and is brought to you by Sobol-Perry fashion Productions, Inc. Events.

This amazing event was created by Beth Sobel, of Sobol-Perry events. She planned the first Miami Bridal Week event in 1999. Since, the beginning, Beth knew Bridal Week in Miami would be a major success. Now MBW is one of the top 5 most popular fashion weeks in the world, and ranked the best in the bridal show categories. This event is definitely a headliner, with up to 740 media and press in attendance as well as America’s top bridal magazines front row at this event.  Aside from the huge amount of coverage, people who attend this event will be pleasantly treated to the finest in wedding decadence.

So what does Miami Bridal Week have in store for its attendees? Well, to answer that, let’s start with the fashion shows. Eden Roc Renaissance will be sponsoring the fashion shows this year. It’s the perfect beach front resort, with a beautiful view, and over 200 million dollars worth of renovations. This year MBW will host 55 designers from 32 countries, 650 international media outlets as well as receive over 740 million global media impressions worldwide. Shows will feature a beautiful array of wedding gowns and tuxedos. There will even be on-site financial counselors to help couples plan their lives together after their big day. On Tuesday, November 29^th from 5:30 to 10 p.m., Art Miami (www.art-miami.com), Miami’s longest running contemporary art fair and anchor fair to the City of Miami, will host its Opening Night VIP Preview to benefit The Lotus House Women’s Shelter. The Art Miami VIP Preview has become the most important kickoff event of Art Week for the City of Miami and one of the most sought after events for serious collectors to attend. This high-profile evening is the first view for collectors, curators, museum professionals and art enthusiasts to acquire some of the finest and most important works of art the contemporary market has to offer before the fair opens to the public the following day. With more than 110 prestigious international galleries participating, Art Miami is distinguished for its quality, depth, and diversity and maintains a preeminent position in America’s contemporary art fair market. Art Miami has grown to include more than 110 galleries from 18 countries, and will showcase 1,000 artists from 60 countries around theworld. From the United States, 400 artists will be shown from nearly 100 cities.

The First Viewbenefit for The Lotus House Women’s Shelter is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. and requires a $25 ticket paid online in advance or at the door.

“In an effort to meet the continued increasing demand to attend the benefit Art Miami created the ability for attendees to purchase their First View Tickets in advance online at www.lotushouseshelter.org/events.html,” said Nick Korniloff, Director of Art Miami. “We are also extremely proud that 100 percent of the proceeds generated from the VIP Preview benefit will once again benefit The Lotus House Women’s Shelter.”

The Lotus House and Art Miami partnership already has raised more than $70,000 and remains an integral part of Art Miami’s larger commitment to the City of Miami. Art Miami also will employ a number of women from The Lotus House to work at the fair.

“We are proud to be partnering again with Art Miami and truly appreciate the Fair’s continued support of The Lotus House,” said Constance Collins Margulies, President of The Lotus House Women’s Shelter. “The funds raised from the VIP Opening Night Preview over the years has helped our program expand and offer even more opportunities to provide the vital work we do for the women of Miami.”

Following the benefit at 7 p.m., Art Miami’s VIP Preview will begin for all Art Miami VIP Card Holders. This has become the “can’t miss” event for serious collectors, museum professionals, curators, art enthusiasts, gallerists and artists to attend. Last year, more than 7,500 guests attended the prestigious evening including Attendees will experience Art Miami’s gallery-like ambience in the state-of-the-art 125,000-square-foot Art Miami Pavilion in Midtown Miami’s burgeoning Wynwood Arts District, as presented by this year’s sponsors: Sotheby’s International Realty,Persol and Balthazar. Guests also will relax in the VIP Lounge designed by world renowned designer Juan Montoya and presented by theMandarin Oriental, Miami.

“Art Miami’s VIP Preview is always an exciting evening as it’s the first showcase of works to be unveiled during Art Week,” Korniloff said. “On this incredible evening, the art and philanthropy worlds converge to support a shared mission to truly make a difference in the Miami community. On Opening Night, Art Miami will once again treat its guests to an amazing exhibition of art projects in the fairs public space provided by its exhibitors and curated by Julia Draganovic. This year’s Art Video and New Media lounge will be sponsored by Persol, curated by Dragonovic and will feature works on loan from prominent institutions and private collections including “Chang’an Boulevard” by Ai WeiWei, the celebrated Chinese artist who was recently earned the number one spot on ArtReview’s 2011 Power 100 list.

Born in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil, A.Z Araujo was introduced to fashion through his aunt Maria who was a local designer in their small town. After finishing his studies the designer had a taste of fame while starring in a very popular Brazilian soap opera in the mid 90´s. A.Z also began working as an assistant to Hilda Marinho, a famous costume designer in Rio de Janeiro, whom he learned classic detailing and bespoke tailoring with some of the best fabrics in the atelier of Ms. Marinho.

Seven years ago, A.Z decided to spread his wings and move to New York  as he felt it was the right time to start his own label: A.Z Araujo. We wish him the best of luck for the future.

Many designs are reversible or convert based on your specific needs at the moment. “My favorite piece is the shrug that converts to a full cover as well as skirt. It comes in its own sling bag, and will be ALL you will need to take you from a day on the beach, to poolside cocktails and beyond…,” said Lipman.

“The first collection was a great success! We look forward to featuring Nouvelle’s new designs in our stores. The season will kick off with an exclusive trunk show with Joanne at The Cove, Atlantis,” said Errol Cohen, VP Retail Kerzner International.

“For the 2012 collection, I have collaborated with New York artist, Kara Brook [www.karabrookart.com, waxingkara.com] to create an encaustic work of art in coral hues combined with sunny yellow and gold touches for the line,” explained Lipman. Nouvelle Resort benefits from a combination of Joanne’s personal style and her knowledge gained leading and creating top companies. She led Grafton Paper Products to become one of Business Day’s Top Five Small Businesses in South Africa. She then founded Star Paper Products, a designer stationery distributer in South Africa in 1992 and, under her creative design and direction, made their designer paper products THE popular brand for retail chains. Retail buyers credit her creativity by saying she ‘made stationery fashionable.’ Today, the company is still a successful business in South Africa and she has daily contact with them.

Lipman has always possessed an affinity for the aesthetics of style and design that are necessary to set her businesses and herself apart. Always a fashionista, Lipman designed and sewed her own creations in her teens and spent the 90s, regularly traveling to Milan and Paris in devotion to Armani, Versace, Mugler, Kenzo, Alaia and Dolce & Gabbana.

Nine years ago, Lipman married and moved to Dallas from Johannesburg with her husband, a surgery resident at UT Southwestern, had two children, and opened a popular fashion boutique that housed emerging and internationally recognized designers such as Coccinelle, Botkier, Trina Turk, Alexander McQueen, Escada, Samsonite Black Label, Misis, Lorelei, Givenchy, Sondra Roberts, and Devon Leigh. In 2006, Lipman began creating ideas and designs for her own line of handbags and resort wear, hiring a local seamstress and sold them in her store where she hosted many talked about fashion shows and charity events.
