Pets & Fashion: Simon Fashion Now Brings the Roar of the Runway to Atlanta

Simon Fashion Now Brings the Roar of the Runway to Atlanta with Haute Highlights: Bauder College and Atlanta Pet Rescue’s Four-legged Friends Spring Into Fashion at Lenox Square

Simon Fashion Now™ offers a catwalk couture experience that is a must for fashion enthusiasts across the city. Highlighting the weekend’s fashion event is Simon Fashion Bow Wow, a design competition featuring six students from the Bauder College fashion design program who will showcase their fresh take on fashion for local celebs and adoptable canine companions from Atlanta Pet Rescue. Competing students include Sharnae Johnson, Sharod Woods, Isaac Spry, Kerlyn Sterling, Clinthique Thornton and Shatia Vasquez.

Each student has been paired with a media personality, including Q100’s Jenn Hobby; Fox 5‘s Justin Gray; Jessica Shops’ Jessica Dauler; The Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Jamie Gumbrecht; WSB-TV’s Linda Stouffer; and CBS Atlanta’s Jennifer Valdez.

The students are conducting individual style consultations to create inspired versions of the quintessential spring ensemble for their media celebrity partners and pooches. The final reveal of the collaborative designs will take place Friday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. during an exclusive show at Lenox Square: Simon Fashion Bow Wow. Critiquing the design competition will be a panel of well-known fashion judges including Project Runway’s Anthony Williams; Life & Food Editor for the Sunday Paper, Kirsten Palladino; Dave FM’s Mara Davis; and Peach Buzz columnist and blogger Jennifer Brett.

What: Simon Fashion Bow Wow, a highlight of the Simon Fashion Now weekend April 30 – May 1, will also feature a Silent Auction benefitting Atlanta Pet Rescue on Friday from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Shoppers can bid on items before and during the Simon Fashion Bow Wow fashion show.

Friday’s fashion shows: 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. (Simon Fashion Bow Wow) & 8 p.m.
Saturday’s fashion shows: 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m. & 6 p.m.

Simon Fashion Now events kick-off on Friday evening with Trends & Friends Night, an evening of fashion, cocktails and bites. Simon Fashion Bow Wow and the silent auction benefitting Atlanta Pet Rescue are just two highlights of this fantastic evening of fun.

Why: Strutting their stuff on the canine catwalk will be pooches from Atlanta Pet Rescue. Atlanta Pet Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter dedicated to rescuing unwanted pets and providing compassionate care for homeless dogs and cats. The haute hounds in need of homes are hoping to be adopted by Simon Fashion Bow Wow attendees.
