Kanye West Gives Sincere Apology On New Jay Leno Tonight Show

We were surprised to see that Kanye West show up on the first episode of Jay Leno’s Tonight Show. During an unexpected interview, Kanye, apologizes for his behavior at the 2009 VMAs and for the Taylor Swift incident.

Despite the hype and excessive promos, the new Jay Leno show went out without a hitch. The jokes were extremely fresh, and relevant. Leno was even able to sneak a good joke in about Kanye West and Taylor Swift being invited to the Obama White House for a “Root-Beer-Exposition”, making light of the 19-year-old Taylor Swift being too young to drink alcohol.

Although the skits, and interview with Jerry Seinfield were great, the win came with an unexpected guest spot with Kanye West. Jay-Z, Rhianna, and Kanye were originally scheduled to perform on the first episode of the Tonight Show. However, Kanye wanted to speak about the incident that occurred during the 2009 MTV VMAs one evening prior.

In what felt like a pure display of emotion, Kanye West gave a public apology for his actions, apologizing to Taylor Swift, her family, her fans, and music fans in general. Leno displayed true character as a role model, when he brought up the question as to what Kanye’s mother (who passed recently) would have thought about his actions. Shakenly, Kanye responded that he hadn’t really taken time off to grieve about his mother’s death, and that he would take time off in the near future to do so. We hope Kanye West takes this opportunity to situate things in his life accordingly.
